This is an exciting opportunity for someone with industry knowledge who understands vehicle parts and purchasing processes and is ready to hit the ground running.

You will be the first point of contact for customers, handling inbound calls and negotiating vehicle purchases. This role requires someone with confidence and a strong understanding of the automotive wrecking and recycling industry to assess opportunities and make sound buying decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming customer calls and inquiries related to vehicle purchasing.
  • Assess and negotiate vehicle purchases (wrecked, damaged, or unwanted cars).
  • Accurately record purchase details and liaise with the operations team.
  • Provide excellent customer service while maximising buying opportunities.
  • Work closely with management to help establish and grow an offshore support team in the future.
  • Help train and support junior staff once the team expands.

To Succeed

  • Previous experience in the automotive, wrecking, or recycling industry (essential).
  • Solid understanding of car parts and vehicle valuations.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and solid decision-making abilities.
  • Phone-based customer service experience is highly regarded.

Reporting directly to the Country Operations Manager, it is the responsibility of the Maintenance Supervisor to manage a team of mechanical fitters, review plant maintenance issues and decipher problems to determine solutions to meet the business objectives of quality, cost, and efficiency requirements.

Your Role

  • Accountability for overseeing all maintenance and repairs (Electrical & Mechanical)
  • Lead efforts to upgrade plant/facility for efficiency, safety, and reliability.
  • Oversee General Contractors and manage their visits and equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Responsible for site infrastructure and facilities maintenance requirements.
  • Participate in and manage ISO audit requirements related to maintenance dept.
  • Responsible for upkeeping of the spare parts management system.
  • Develop and maintain Plant/Equipment preventative maintenance programs.
  • Responsible for the safe operation and tidiness of the maintenance workshop, equipment, and tools.
  • Lead projects involving commissioning, installation, modification, or renovation of building and equipment.
  • Controls costs, scheduling, and development of maintenance activities
  • Actively attending all the maintenance requests and updating the maintenance log.

  • Competitive salary of $125,000 + Superannuation + 5% Incentive bonus based on performance.

To Succeed:

  • Degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics engineering or Equivalent
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Forklift License
  • Connect Disconnect electrical license
  • Proficient in basic office applications MS Word, Excel.
  • Familiarity with automation system controls & PLC programming
  • Strong knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical systems e.g. pneumatics, hydraulics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach with an attention to detail and a proven ability to multitask.
  • Understand manufacturing and industrial breakdowns related to injection moulding machines and fault finding.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and coordination skills.
